Welcome

Care for newborns

Research indicates that when a mother receives care from someone following the birth of her child, whether for a few days or weeks, and focuses solely on nurturing herself and the baby, she tends to gain more self-confidence, adapt better to the newborn, and have greater success with breastfeeding.
In the past, new parents could rely on family members for support during this transition period, but with today’s fast-paced society, finding assistance within one’s own circle can be challenging. A postpartum doula, a trained professional, offers emotional, physical, and educational support to parents as they navigate caring for their newborn independently.
About Me

Hello! My name is Anelise Barbosa,

Hello! My name is Anelise Barbosa,I come from a bustling family of four siblings and grew up immersed in the vibrant culture of Brazil. Raised by a family of dedicated school teachers, community values, and a deep sense of empathy were instilled in me from an early age. Growing up surrounded by caregivers and babysitters, I gained invaluable insight into the needs and expectations of families, laying the foundation for my lifelong passion.

My heart has always been drawn to the world of babies and children, captivated by their unique perspective on life. From my earliest memories, I’ve been driven by a desire to provide comfort and support to my family and neighbors facing the joys and challenges of raising children.

In 2002, I moved to the US and started babysitting. With over two decades of experience working with families, I understand it takes a village to raise a child and the complexities of parenthood. In 2008, I embarked on a journey to deepen my understanding of newborn care, becoming a Newborn Care Specialist and Postpartum Doula (DONA). In 2014, I felt the need to deepen my knowledge in breastfeeding, and I became a Lactation Counselor Educator (UCSD). Armed with this knowledge, years of experience and a heart full of empathy, I am committed to supporting families through every stage of their journey. I believe in providing the kind of individualized, personal care that you would expect from a loving family member or close friend. Whether you’re welcoming your first child or navigating the challenges of integrating a new baby into your family, I am here to support you every step of the way. And for those who prefer a more remote approach, I also offer prenatal and postpartum support over calls or video calls, ensuring that help is always just a phone call away.
